I am a quirky Art Witch, joyfully and creatively unraveling life’s mysteries with art, craft & Tarot. I am a mixed media artist with special interest in family archiving, memory keeping, A.I. photo editing.

  • I use the word witch to describe myself because it defines a way of living that really resonates with me and matches the way I move through the world better than anything else I have discovered.

It’s rooted in women claiming authority over their own lives, knowledge, and bodies. For a long time, “witch” was the label given to women who didn’t always follow the rules, women who trusted their instincts and didn’t ask for permission to be themselves. Using the word is a way of aligning myself with that inheritance of self-confidence and self-empowerment.

My practice isn’t religious, but it is spiritual. I don’t work with doctrine or hierarchy. I work with intuition, attention, the natural world, and the subtle connections between inner life and lived experience. It’s an experiential practice, not dogma.  There is no script to follow.

Art is where this shows up most clearly. What I make isn’t just visual, it’s intentional. Each piece is a form of art magic, sometimes a spell, sometimes a meditation or a prayer.  It is often  a way of giving shape to something that may be hiding inside of me that wants to come out, be known  and understood.

And yes, I appreciate the beauty of the witchy aesthetic. Symbols matter. Visual language matters. But I promise you, the pointy hat only comes out for the occasional Halloween.

For me, being a witch means honoring intuition, creativity, and lived wisdom as legitimate sources of power.

  • The author

I make art to come home to myself.

I follow curiosity and I am fearless in the face of imperfection.

I allow myself to be a beginner whenever I need to be.

I keep space for wonder, play, and my delightful, quirky weirdness.

I honor my body’s pace, and I build a rhythm I can live with. I respect cycles: seasons, mood cycles, body cycles, energy cycles. I understand that rest is part of the work, not a detour from it.

I use creativity as a tool for healing, clarity, and transformation.

I’m not interested in controlling the world, I’m interested in collaborating with it.

I share my stories and my truth with others to light the way and connect.

I live with intention, and I turn creativity into everyday magic.

I’m 63 and living with constant pain and chronic health issues, including Multiple Sclerosis. MS affects me physically and it’s also caused early cognitive impairment, especially with memory and processing. It’s frustrating, and it’s one reason I’ve been quieter online for the last eight years. But I’m not here for sympathy. I’m here because I’m still in the game. I still have a voice. And whether it’s a good idea or not, I have arrived and I may stick around for a while.
